Matty's Movie Mog Contest

Matty, over at Sugar & Blood, is holding a Movie Mog contest in honor of the Oscars falling on her birthday! First of all, happy birthday Matty! Secondly, thanks for offering up this great idea, and another opportunity for me to play World of Barbies! ;) Or in this case, Lord of the Rings Dress-Up!

Here are the rules:

  • Deadline for submission: February 20, 2013 (any time zone is fine)
  • Submission format: Screenshots of each of your entries, with character name from the movie
  • Mog ensemble: somewhere jot down what you did, so if folks ask, it's available
  • What: Submit three mog outfits, (Mogit is fine) of three characters from one of your favorite movies, or from one of the award nominees this year. For example, Mary Todd, Abraham, and Robert Lincoln would be a good trio. This is not their Oscar or red carpet attire, but the costumes in the films.
It was also specified that the 'mogs didn't have to actually be transmogrifiable, could be a mix of all sorts of stuff, so long as it looked like the characters' costumes in the movie.

Without further ado, here are my entries for Matty's Movie Mog.

Entry #1 Elrond, Lord of Rivendell ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Elrond is wearing a variety of cloth, from poor quality to epic. Resplendent Circlet, Red Workman's Shirt, Vestments of the Sea-Witch, Cord of Reconstruction, Boots of Blasting, Padded Bracers.

Entry #2 Faramir of Gondor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Faramir is wearing a mish-mash of items ranging in quality and proficiency. Jasperlode Chestguard, Padded Belt, Groovey Legguards, VanCleef's Boots, Crusader's Armguards, Ghoul Fingers, Darktide Cape, Assassination Blade, Satyr's Bow, Guild Tabard.

(Note: The Guild Tabard was designed by me in WMV. Closest in-game tabard if you can't design this one yourself, is the Guardians of Hyjal who's design is closer to the one in the live shot, but has a green border/icon color. This can be complemented with a green cloak, and look just as good.)

Entry #3 Haldir of Lorien ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Haldir, again, is sporting a variety of armor proficiencies ranging in quality. Stylish Black Shirt, Black Dragonscale Breastplate, Black Tuxedo Pants, Recruit's Boots, Vicious Embersilk Bracers, Yojamba Gloves, Battle Healer's Cloak, Reinforced Bow.

Great job on all three of these and especially the postcard designs but I think it might be an elf thing too :P

Nicely done. They all look great! ^^

At first I also thought of doing Elrond as one of mine. But I have to say that your version of him turned out way better than what I had in mind. :)

Thanks Lorelei :D I think it's hard to choose too, because we fall in love with so many of those characters that we want to represent them properly! :)
